Banff National Park – The Western Canadian tourist attraction, with the Rocky Mountains, lakes, hotels, hot springs and fabulous scenery.
Head Smashed In Buffalo Jump – See where natives drove buffalo to their death on the prairie. Interpretive center re-creates these fascinating buffalo drives. One hour south of our bed and breakfast.
University of Calgary – Southern Albertan university serving students from around the world. A beautiful campus and wide ranging learning experiences for visitors to check out.
Canada Olympic Park – Visit the 90m Ski Jump tower overlooking the city of Calgary, check out the bobsled and luge runs, try an actual ride on a luge, and visit the Olympic museum. Skiing also available in the winter months.
Drumheller's Royal Tyrell Museum – The Royal Tyrell Museum highlights archeological digs, full sized dinosaur skeletons and interactive exhibits in one of the world’s premiere dinosaur areas located in the Badlands, just one hour northeast of Calgary.
Spruce Meadows – A world class equestrian venue. Many horse jumping competitions are held here from June through September.
Fish Creek Park – Walk, hike, or bike in Canada's largest natural urban park, only a 5 minute walk from our B & B.
West Edmonton Mall – OK, so it's not local but it is so big and interesting that we recommend seeing it. 3 hr drive.
Rocky Mountain Ski Resorts - Come to any of these beautiful resorts to ski, snowboard or sightsee during the winter season. Resorts include Nakiska (site of the Olympic downhill events), Mount Norquay, Lake Louise, Fortress and Sunshine Village. All resorts are less than a 1.5hr drive from Calgary.
Heritage Park, Calgary - See Alberta as it was in the years before 1950. From an operating steam engine train, to a paddle wheeler, to a full town, to a 1920's farm, you will enjoy learning about and experiencing the heritage of our great province.
